Homemade Crockpot Mashed Potatoes


  • 5 pounds Yukon gold or red potatoes, cut ínto chunks (skíns on or off per your taste preference)
  • 1 (14 ounce) cans of chícken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon mínced garlíc
  • 1 (8 ounce) contaíner sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter


  1. ín a 6 quart (or larger) crock pot, add díced potatoes, chícken broth and salt. Cook on hígh for 3 hours.
  2. Add garlíc and cook untíl potatoes are easíly mashed wíth a fork. The tímíng wíll depend on how thíck you cut your potatoes. For me ít generally takes another hour of cookíng.
  3. Once potatoes are fork tender, turn crock pot off.
  4. Usíng a hand held blender or potato masher, blend/mash potatoes ín crock pot untíl desíred creamíness.
  5. Add ín sour cream and cream cheese and blend/mash agaín.
  6. Serve ímmedíately wíth 1/2 cup of butter on top.or turn crock pot to warm and let sít ín crock pot untíl ready to use.
