Maple Pecan Shortbread Cookies

Easy, melt in your mouth shortbread cookies full of chopped pecans and maple flavor. Perfect cookies for fall!


  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or 1/2 tsp maple extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Maple Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or 1/4 to 1/2 tsp maple extract
  • 3 tbsp milk (only needed if using the maple extract instead of maple syrup)
Maple Pecan Shortbread Cookies

  1. In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, or with a hand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in maple syrup or extract
  2. Add in the salt and then add in the flour, a few batches at a time until fully combined. Fold in the chopped pecans
  3. Place a piece of plastic wrap onto a work surface and place dough on top. Shape into a log and wrap in the plastic wrap. Place in the fridge to chill for 1 hour
